An Admirer - May 3, 1993 by Laura Knight
I know you usually catch me
Staring at you
I know you look into my eyes
And wonder why I stare at you
The way I do.
Then there are the times you don't catch me
The times I take in every line of your face
Every muscle of your body
And the delicate smoothness of your hands.
I watch you walk
You're proud, yet not conceited
I listen to you relate
You're quiet, yet not afraid to speak your mind.
I observe you from a distance
Because I can't get close enough
To wrap my arms around your body
To envelop your lips in a kiss
Or to steal a place in your heart.
When you find the girl of your dreams
She'd better love you as deep
And as strong as I know you'll love her
She'd better love you as I would, if I could.
